iOS / iPhone Engineer

At Schematic Labs we make social apps for mobile & web.
We are a small agile team of multi-disciplined software engineers and designers. What brings us together is a passion for changing the world using technology and design, and improving how people share their lives on the social Web using mobile devices. We are looking for talented developers and designers who have a passion for building products that are both beautifully designed and immensely fun to use.
The first product we have created is SoundTracking, which is the fastest growing social music service today and allows you to share and discover the music soundtrack of your life using your iPhone or Android. The SoundTracking application for iOS was recently named by Apple as “Best iPhone Music App of 2011”.
Schematic Labs is based in the SoMa area of San Francisco in the historic Jackson Brewery building and is backed by Accel Partners, True Ventures, Softbank Capital and Google Ventures.
You:

- have a proven track record of excellence & leadership in engineering.
Requirements - must have experience with:
- Cocoa / UIKit
- Good working knowledge of Objective-C/C language & Objective-C runtime.
- Objective-C/Core Foundation reference-counting, memory management rules.
- Extensive XCode/Interface Builder knowledge.
- Solid MVC design skills.
- Working with UITableView, custom UITableViewCells, etc.
- High performance / low latency UI development.
- REST APIs / JSON web services.
- Integrating with Source Control (Git & GitHub highly preferred, or Subversion / CVS / Mercurial / etc.).
- Great debugging skills.
Bonus points for experience with:
- Active development projects on GitHub.
- Integrating with third-party services (Facebook / Twitter / Foursquare / etc.).
- iOS Twitter Framework.
- Media playback APIs (AVPlayer / MPMediaPlayer).
- iPad development.
- Push Notifications / Urban Airship.
- iOS Device Provisioning, submitting apps to the App Store.
- Automatic Reference Counting (ARC).
- Multithreading / concurrency / Grand Central Dispatch (GCD) / etc.
- Performance tuning (e.g. Instruments / static analyzer).
- Other programming languages: C++ / Objective-C++ / Java / Ruby / etc.
- Web Development (HTML5 / CSS / JavaScript / jQuery / Rails).
